Well, it is that time of year again....RODEO season! It is just around the corner and I know we are all looking forward to competing. If you have competed several times, or this year will be your first you won't want to miss Kathy's Team Penning Planning Session. Just wanted to send a reminder about the Thanksgiving potluck this evening. We will begin eating around 7ish tonight. Schedule for lessons remains the same for the 3:30, 4;30, and 5:30 classes. Subject: Upcoming Vaccinations/Important Dates

Dr. Mattheyson from Southwest Hills Veterinary office will be coming to the barn on Tuesday, October 27 to administer fall vaccinations. Her visit will include a Coggins test and a dental exam. If you own your horse and have made other arrangements please let Kathy know. There will be a sign up sheet on the board if you DO NOT wish for your horse to be examined.

Thee are also a few changes to the schedule that will be taking place in the next few weeks. They are as follows:

October 25- Cow lesson @ 2:00

November 1- NO cow lesson

November 3/4- No Tuesday/Wednesday lessons (USTPA finals)

November 8- Central Texas Arabian Horse Club show beginning at 9:00(www.ctahc.org)

Signal Hill News

There is going to be a Central Texas Arabian Horse play day at Signal Hill Ranch October 11 and November 8. You do not need an Arabian to participate in the play day. All breeds are welcome. The play days start at 9am, so please come. 4H horses will be available to be ridden.

Wednesday, October 7th during the 4H ride time... there will be a guest speaker. Her name is Dr. Matthysen DMV. She is the new vet for our horses at Signal Hill, taking over Dr. Garza's practice. The topic will be about parasite control and worms. DONT MISS IT, IT WILL BE COOL!

April 1st Wednesday 4-H Meeting; Lunging

The April 1st 4-H meeting was an educational meeting about lunging. For the first part of the meeting, Mrs.Kathy told us about side reins and their uses. She then brought out Eight and showed us the key points of how to lunge a horse using side reins for the last half of the meeting.

April 2^nd - 5:30 – 6:30 NO CLEAN-UP We will be practicing for the April 12^th Play Day

In my March 12^th emailing, I announced a Clean-Up of Signal Hill on Wednesday, April 2^nd. There was some confusion on the date, and the clean-up occurred this past Wednesday March 26th. I apologize for any problems this may cause for those who were planning to participate in the Clean-up scheduled for the second. For those who missed the clean-up, I urge you to see if you can help Eddie and Kathy in other ways.
